Hi!
I’m Pratik Wadmare, an incoming PhD student in Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In my PhD, I plan to explore item response theory models, the measurement of non-cognitive skills, and the impact evaluation of technological and policy interventions aimed at improving STEM learning.
I have worked with two leading education research organizations in India: ASER Centre and J-PAL South Asia. At both, I contributed to the design and implementation of experimental and observational studies on topics such as early childhood education, foundational literacy and numeracy, educational technology, affirmative action, and vocational skilling.
I am also interested in the implementation side of education programs. I support VOPA, an Indian non-profit organization, in developing theories of change, designing and executing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks, and building strategic partnerships to launch initiatives that address pressing social challenges.
